Why not every weekend?
Now I’m really confused.
I thought the main focus was to get good exposure and get events going that would bring people in here so we can survive as a nudist facility. I thought the push was to have a lot of events over the Summer to raise cash since we had a slow Winter. Sosie recently told me that when she asked what events were coming up a manager responded “We can’t have something every weekend”.
This is the root of the problem. Sosie is exactly the example of attitude we need more of to have a successful project. She is exactly the kind of person who should greet people at the gate and be showing new people around. She always has that positive and happy side out first. I see she is trying to get Kazoo to be the activity guy again. I share his frustration.
The resistance Sosie, Kazoo, Sequoia and I have met is what has been going on in several forms for a while. It’s that mentality that doesn’t like the fact that we are dying fast but doesn’t want to put the extra effort out to save us. You know what happens when people sit around and wait for other people to do something? Nothing, and you go down quicker when you shoot down the ideas of those who put forth more effort than you.
We should do more events and they should be every weekend. The competition does and they are doing very well. All the more reason to do more than they are.
I have something for you guys to think about. Joel said he and Patrick were going to plan something for July 4th. I asked him if they were going to direct it to nudists of everyone off the street in which the nudists were the side show. He said he didn’t know who they were going to direct it to. Still haven’t heard back from that one. (We still haven’t had that meeting to get more events planned either) So here’s what you can look forward to.
If they have non nudists events that are profitable they have monetary proof that non nudists events are the way to go. Remember Joel saying at the last meeting that it would be very easy to have events here if no one lived here? He told me the hardest thing to change is culture and he is exactly right. Take a hint people.
All you have to do to guarantee going textile, is exactly what you are doing now. Don’t put forth the extra effort to match and surpass your competition and continue being closed off to lifesyles other than what would fit into a christian rest home.
If I was a Canadian I would be questioning what I was coming back to. Would I see lots of non nudists wondering around? Would I see even more people with cameras at the even thinner vegetation around the perimeter? If the Summer management doesn’t want to do events in the dead season, will they bring back the old Winter managers for the busy season? Can we believe anything we are told? If some of the few remaining permanent residents are fed up looking to move, why should we go there?
Change is our constant. Chance favors the prepared mind.

About Hawk: Hawk spends most of his days in the dirt trying to beautify naked ghettos. |

What a shame that the club isn’t effectively managing the place for the good of all who live there. If the daily fees were reasonable or if discounted rates were offered for long term access, I’d be going there on a regular basis. Instead, I’m going to Haulover. I can spend the day there for 5 bucks or park for free with a handicap placard.
Too bad Seminole doesn’t get it. People would flock to the gates if they were enticed by a reasonable entry fee. The low fee would easily be offset by the guest’s food and beverage purchases. Forget Weston. Seminole is more of a Davie kind of place and should be marketed as such by emphasizing it’s unique, laid back, casual and friendly atmosphere.
This could easily be accomplished through the utilization of a decisive, knowledgeable business manager that would be willing to work on effective marketing strategies. More important, is that management needs to listen with an open mind, follow through on a regular basis and show genuine appreciation for other people’s efforts. Until that happens, Seminole’s future will remain a bleak uncertainty.
I went to Sunsportgardens this weekend. You should move there. At least you would be around peopleof like mind. Their leader is slim and walks everywhere.
Hawk, I remember the saying you told me. “The body is the product of the character”. I don’t think you are surrounded by high energy, self motivated people.
Wizard, i do apologize your ignorance does out shine your knowledge.
Ms. Rantz said it all. It’s so obvious but it falls on deaf ears.
The killer here is the egocentric attitude of the top level. Match that with the impotence of succeeding levels and you have a perfect formula for failure, intentional or otherwise.
Here’s a sad twist. Recent key words used in searching for us were “fuck seminole health club” used five times. It was in the top ten key word searches.
People’s first impressions come from phone calls and who they meet at first visit.
I can’t do anything more for this place.
